What people are saying about the ever-changing world of construction technology.
Important Industry Survey from Burger Consulting Group
Burger Consulting Group (BCG), an IT Consultancy dedicated to construction firms, has initiated an IT Cost and Benchmarking study for the industry. The goal is to provide contractors with better IT benchmarks and guidelines. The results of this study will be presented later this year in a series of webinars. Additionally, an analytical white paper will be sent to participants of the survey. BCG, along with their sponsor Plante Moran, is also going to make the data available by publishing dynamic graphs and charts developed by partners Tableau and LightHorse Innovation.
The construction industry is thriving again and all indicators suggest this trend will continue into 2017. Nevertheless, attracting, training and retaining a new generation of talent continues to hinder firms of all sizes. At Viewpoint’s User Conference last year, ABC’s Mike Bellaman and FMI’s Gregg Schoppman participated in a lively discussion regarding strategies to overcome these workforce development challenges.
In a recent study, 71% of contractors said they allocate less than 1% of the revenue for IT. The consequences of under-investing in IT can impact capacity to scale and grow, to compete, recruit, control costs, improve profitability, and more. So, is it time to strategize?
